I was born in Belis, Romania in 1974. In 1998, I married Marcel, my classmate, a professional soccer player whose soccer career opened the opportunity for us to come to the U.S. in search of “The American Dream”. We were surprised to discover that “The Dream” did not come with a guaranteed silver lining! Life could be difficult here, too!
Being reared in the Orthodox Church, I thought that I would live with God in Heaven simply because I was born Orthodox. But one day, after coming to the US, God opened my eyes and let me see my sins before Him, and my deep need of a Savior. I gave my life to JESUS, and He became my Savior and my Lord. My heart was radically changed; I realized the better life I had been seeking was really the New Life in Jesus Christ! My love and joy springs from God’s only Son who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by ME.'' I can now thank God for the difficult times He used to draw me to Him. I want to serve Him with all my heart, mind and strength, and to bring glory to His name. The vital freshness of His Love is my motivation now, rather than just holding to a set of ancient, man-made traditions.
I praise Him for the chance to work with RHM to serve kids in my country who suffer with so many painful and unjust social and health issues. I can hardly wait to go to Romania to tell them what Jesus has done in my life, and that He can do it for them also.
In 2002, we were blessed with a little daughter who loves Jesus, and has a favorite verse of scripture: “As for me and for my house, we will serve the Lord.''
