2000
Romanian Handicapped Ministries, Inc.
History
In June 2000, the team had grown to eighteen teenagers
and six adults.  In addition, this year two physicians from the
Cincinnati Children's Hospital visited various Romanian
hospitals, and then joined us later in Constanta to examine,
evaluate and record the medical conditions of the many
children with the help of our guide and outstanding
Romanian Occupational Rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Carmen
Calin. (Dr. Calin has remained a fast friend of RHM and yearly
guide ever since that time.)

That year a dream was born to build a Day Center to provide
medically trained personnel to give care and individually
prescribed treatments.  There was no such facility within a
hundred miles of Constanta at the time.  This center would
provide safe day care, free medical treatment, physical
therapy, and an accessible location for families to meet for
fun and social activities.  In addition, it would offer basic
education, fundamental interpersonal skills training, and
needed encouragement and counseling for caregivers.  God
continues to enlarge and enrich the vision as time progresses.
